Kathy Boyd Fellure
A writer and photographer, Kathy is the second born of eight daughters in a writing family. Kathy’s passion for poetry budded early and continues to bloom into a lifelong love affair with words. She began writing song lyrics while living in Norfolk, England. Her lyrics, In Harmony, considered by Heart, garnered Kathy a screening and record contract from Sunrise Records of Hollywood.
Upon Kathy’s return home to the United States, she branched out writing in the non-fiction and fiction genres. The Amador Ledger Dispatch, Gold Mine, Sacramento Bee, Neighbors, McClellan AFB Spacemaker, Catholic Herald, Antelope News, Center Voice Magazine, and numerous interdenominational publications, have published her photography, press releases, and articles.
Kathy penned one non-fiction book, Everyday Warriors, with her two youngest children, chronicling the early days of their Type 1 Diabetes. She has written two fiction children’s books; The Cameo Club Conspiracy and When the Birdies Came to Tea, released in June of 2010. Her work- in-progress is a literary fiction novel titled, The Language of the Lake.
One of Kathy’s poems, The Bloom, was published in the book - Immortal Verses, in 2007 by Poetry.com. Her poem, Mad Dash to the Tea House, and photography was published in the July, 2010 Manzanita Vol 6.
Kathy, a Sacramento native, resides in the Amador Gold Country of California with her husband, a son and daughter, a relaxed, middle-aged, Rottweiler named Missy, and a naughty Black Lab-Newfoundland Retriever puppy, Jacob. Two older married sons live in Sacramento, California and on the east coast with her cherished granddaughters - Meckennah, Rhiannon, and Brooklynn.
