Darleen Gossett
Darleen Miller Gossett is native Californian, married to her teenage sweetheart, mother of one and grandmother of six. She is a graduate of Chico State University and for more than twenty years, an educator in local schools. She is a writer of poems and stories since childhood and keeper of thoughts and feelings recorded during life's good times and sorrows.
Motivated by her love for children and the adventure of nourishing young creative minds, she began her publishing journey when Highlights for Children published her first non-fiction article in December, 2007. Published also are devotionals, personal experience stories and poetry—a winner of several poetry awards.
Darleen is the author of God is in the Mountain, a concept book, written in verse and Train Signals, A Very Basic Guide to Punctuation, Grades 1-3.
Blessed with a Christian family heritage, her quest to preserve and pass on her legacy is an ongoing writing assignment of poems and personal experiences. Darleen finds closeness with her creator in the cathedral of God's great outdoors. Here she is inspired to ponder—to write—to live.
