a group of Christian writers who represent many genre, denominations, and age groups. Our common bond is a love of the written word. Experience the joy of expanding your writing gift through the encouragement, friendship, and instruction of a Christian writing community. If you would like to learn more about our group, please email me or check out our flyer: Introducing the Sacramento Christian Writers.
Our 30th Anniversary as a writing group is to be celebrated with a Luncheon on May 15, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Ascension Church.
The speaker: Tim Stafford, is a freelance writer and Senior Writer for Christianity Today Magazine. He’s written more than twenty books, both fiction and non-fiction. His most recent works are Personal God: Can You Really Know the One Who Made the Universe, and Shaking the System: What I Learned from the Great American Reform Movements. Tim lives in Santa Rosa, California. He is married to Popie Stafford and they have three grown children. Tim likes to run, backpack, follow the Oakland A’s, and most of all read. He’s currently working on a novel set in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1963.
We plan to make a display of a Wall of Writers for this celebration of 30 years. Members and local writers are encouraged to turn in a picture and a short biography of themselves for this wall.

Map for
my journey, bright
lantern to light my way
compass to guide my direction
God's Word
Writers Block (Free verse)
Scattered
All around me
Are fragments of time
Without purpose…
Too short
To create.
They seem to float
Endlessly
Through my days
Eluding my
Frantic attempts
To capture them.
Or if captured
Burn out like
Glowing fireflies
On the bottom
Of a jar
Of frustration.

Melodious song
Is thank you for seed and bread
from kind bird watcher.

Hang On
Firefighters heed call
stout, board truck, tenacious hold,
coats and hats awry.
